We really enjoyed this cozy and very bike friendly city. It has so many cool neighbourhoods and the food is great! If you know us a little, you know we appreciate this very much when visiting a city. You can get about any cuisine you dream of there: Ethiopian, Korean, Latino, … all the good stuff. We had too many donuts and really awesome vegan food. There was live music all over. So we had a pretty good time in between getting our practical errands done. I got new tires (finally!), Schwalbe Marathon ones. They are literally bombproof, the have Kevlar sewn into them, which is used in bulletproof vests. No more flats please! I think 11 will do. We both got new bike seats. Yannick’s was worn and tape was barely holding it together anymore. Mine was too soft and, together with my too tilted back seat post, had been giving me back pain for the last months. We’re also looking forward to send some of our unused and winter stuff to LA. We are still too heavily loaded. It’s a hard exercise to find balace going to all these different place. Thankfully Lisa let us leave some stuff behind already.
We also had a dinner night in with Lisa and Sam. Yannick cooked Vol au vent this time. Lisa is big on France and even speaks the language, so she was excited! Edith Piaf and good wine were key for the atmosphere. Yannick had never seen the movie ‘Bienvenue chez les Chtis’, so it was a no brainer to spend the rest of the evening on the couch. Movie night, that had been a while.
